1955 Ford Thunderbird: Hey Hey, What do we have here! A Celebrity? YEP!! This Ol "Torch Red" 55 Bird was originally owned by the late Jack Lemmon who was one of Hollywood's most-loved actors! According to Jack Lemmon (see above document) "I received this car in lieu of cash payment for an appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show"--"I was told at the time that the car was one of the first, if not the first, to be delivered to California"! This car has Star Power! Let's stop for a little history of the original owner!

Jack Lemmon was the well-meaning insecure middle-aged man who could end up in the most ridiculous or comic situations. A tremendous career with 65 Movies and 8 Oscars! He came on to the movie scene in 1954 in "It Should Happen to You" and received an Oscar a year later for "Mister Roberts". A few of his most noted movies include: "Some Like It Hot" (1959) with Tony Curtis was the greatest drag comedy of all-time, "The Odd Couple" (1968) with Walter Matthau, was two opposite personalities sharing the same apartment, "Grumpy Old Men" (1971) also with Walter Matthau, as feuding neighbors! I could go on with an incredible career but I should get on with the Ol' Bird!

Built in Dearborn, Michigan with a Birthday of July 26th 1955 (26G), this very collectable early T-Thunderbird is loaded with great factory colors and options! Let's start with the nice factory color combo, she is "Torch Red" (R) with "Red/Wht" (XB) Interior! Equipped with BOTH the Factory Red Hardtop and Correct Black Canvas Soft Top, it's ready for all seasons! Other cosmetic options round off her looks with Fender Skirts, Wire Wheel Covers and Wide White Wall Tires! On the inside, early creature comfort features include: power windows, power seat, factory tachometer, clock, AM radio and heater!

Under the hood she sports just what she was born with! Powered by the correct 198hp 292 cubic inch 4 barrel V8 that's hooked to a driver friendly automatic transmission! YES, she also has POWER STEERING and POWER BRAKES! Her Dual Exhaust quietly runs underneath and finally exiting correctly out the Rear Bumper Guards! There is no mistaking the sound of FORDS 292 V8! Known Items: This car includes complete documentation with signatures from Jack Lemmon! Not restored but a petted, protected, well cared for and maintained original! A wonderfully straight and original body with NO signs of any rust or accident history! It appears to have been re-finished once the Factory Correct "Torch Red" many years ago with actual age unknown! Above average Driver Quality, the paint/body looks great from a short distance with expected age/use. All chrome/stainless/glass is good with no major flaws, again expected age/use. It's undercarriage is driver quality with NO signs of rust or restoration, very solid original!! The interior seating, door panels, carpet and black canvas Soft Top are all new! The original dash is Incredible, which is also a great indication of a Garaged and Well Cared for Classic! The working Speedometer/Odometer reads 91,899 miles and one could easily assume the miles are actual, based on history, condition and undercarriage condition, it could be! NO signed statements, just a professional observation! Sold as Exempt! The Clock is Inoperative and the remaining options worked as designed when inspected. She Runs and Drive's Excellent with No Known Problems or Issues! NO Leaks were noted, common seepage should always be expected. PROTECT IT, DRIVE IT and ENJOY! A nice piece of preserved History!
