1959 Chevrolet Impala 2dr Hardtop Sport Coupe: She's Real Fine, My 409, I saved my pennies and dimes, Giddy Up 409, Nothing Can Catch Her, Giddy Up 409! Yes, this late 50's bowtie sports an updated 409 Big Block and 4-on the floor! There is nothing like classic wings and big early horsepower. A wonderfully sexy body with tasteful mods while retaining it's stock appeal! Read on for more!

A body-off restoration on a solid survivor that was originally equipped with a 348 Big Block and "3 on the Tree" 3 speed manual transmission. Her original Tuxedo Black (900A) body was completely disassembled and refinished jamb to jamb in a durable single stage Snowcrest White. While it was apart every piece of trim inside & out was either polished or re-chromed. All new correct tinted side glass, rubber components and weather-stripping. The front and rear glass is the original. The chassis was treated to all new front end components, brakes and bushings. The rolling stock rests on correct Firestone bias ply 8.50 x 14 Wide Wide tires fitted with correctly tabbed rims with and factory wheel covers. Other nice body features include EZE EYE Glass, Dual Rear Antenna's, Fender Skirts, Chrome Door Handle Shields and Chrome Lower Rocker Moldings.

Hop inside to a wonderfully original interior fitted with correct original Red (code 873) replacement patterns and materials. Yes, all new interior seating, carpet headliner, visors and door panels! Other features include, stock AM Radio, Two-Tone Deluxe Steering Wheel, Cig Lighter, Clock, Single Speed Wipers and Full Spare Tire/Jack. All factory wiring was renewed during the restoration along with an updated mini fuse panel. Everything is right!

Let's open the hood on this jewel, from the casual observers perspective, the intent was retain that stock appearance and factory appeal. Powered by a rebuilt 1964 Chevy Big Block 409 with a casting # of 3844422 and stamped suffix code of T04285J (see sub page 2). The fuel is fed by a period correct cast iron 409 intake manifold and a single Rochester 4 Barrel Carburetor. All of this is neatly topped with a chrome Dual Snorkel 409 Air Filter Housing. Everything is detailed from the fender wells to the firewall. Power transfer is handled thru a rebuilt Corvette 4 speed close ratio manual transmission straight into the stock mounted rear differential. Cooling is handled with a heavy duty radiator and correct fan shroud. Passing the gas is a set of stock 409 exhaust manifolds with dual rear exit glass-pack exhaust.

Known Items: Free and Clear Private Party Titled in the State of Arizona. The body is very solid with no signs rust, accidents and/or major panel replacement. The floor and trunk pans appear as rock solid originals with the exception of common correctly repaired rear passenger foot well area repair due to wet carpet (see sub page shots). The body panels are straight and the shiny single stage professional paint is excellent above average driver quality. All windows operate correctly, the front glass is original with some blotching in the upper shade tint and the rear glass has scratches lower center that may polish out. The factory radio and clock were inop @ time of inspection. According to verbal records, the engine/trans was rebuilt @ the time of restoration, starts perfect, runs and shifts great with NO noted or known issues. Overall a very nice restoration that anyone would be proud of!! Now as I always say, Not Perfect and Not New (none are) but this is one Fine 409 equipped 1959 Impala Sport Coupe!
