1972 Chevy El Camino:
This car is from Boise, Idaho. If you have
not heard about the climate here, it is the best-kept secret
in the country. We get 6-9 inches of moisture annually,
that’s why they call it the “high desert”.
Outstanding daily driver with pricing set at a very fair market
value. Over $20,000 worth of receipts that has been spent on
this “Elky” over the past two years. It is a frame on SS
Clone. The dash components have been replaced with a new
($1,000) SS dash with the tach, gauges and clock. She has a
crate 300 HP 350 motor, with a rebuilt Turbo 350 transmission.
The rear end is a 3.55 twelve bolt. The pictures tell the
story. Every light, gauges, levers, door handles, window cranks
and switches work and are in proper working condition.
Exterior: New average quality paint, new windshield, new vinyl
top, new tonneau cover, new window felt and door rubber, new GM
SS outside mirrors, new chrome wheel moldings, new parking
lights, bed pad, new SS emblems/350/El Camino, new SS grille,
new SS tailgate pieces, new rear tail light lenses, new chrome
bumpers, new bumper guards, new steel SS cowl induction hood.
$11,045.40
Suspension: New front coil springs, new ball joints upper and
lower, new A-arm bushings, four wheel alignment, new 235/60R-15
Grand Am GT tires, new SS wheels/trim rings/caps, new power
brake master cylinder, new shocks, new brakes front and rear
(disc front and drum rear). $2,695.14
Drive
train: New 300HP Hi-Performance 350 crate motor, transmission
rebuild, new headers and exhaust system with chrome tips, new
U-joints. $6,013.96
Interior
and Misc: New radiator and fan, new original SS hood hold down
pins, new dome light lens, new jack/lug wrench and spare tire
cover, new SS dash and gauges, new lower interior kick panels,
new vinyl bench seat cover, new door seals, new door hinges
(upper and lower), new carpet and new door sills, new interior
rear view mirror, rebuild clock, new SS door panels and emblems,
new door lock covers, new glove box liner, new radio with
cassette, new under hood insulation, new SS steering wheel, new
headliner, new seat belts and bolts. $4,254.79
In closing, I think you get
the idea, a good quality driver that
looks good and would make anyone a great driver.

Known
Items: Free and Clear titled in
the State of Idaho. The owner is a Chevrolet GMC
Pontiac Buick dealership. The paint is is of good quality
except there is a slight blem where the drivers front fender
and the headlight bucket meet (at the seam-see subpage
shot). The interior sun visors look good but are not as rich
of black as the new headliner. One may want to convert the
Edelbrock carburetor to an electric choke (manual
now). Besides these items the “Elky” drives straight, shifts
proper, has no motor noises or issues, does not have any oil
leaks, no noises in the rear end, does not pull to the right
or left and brakes proper. Now as we always say, Not Perfect
and Not New (none are) but a great little drive that's very
affordable....
